Default views to admin dashboard based on user role

I am going to be walking a new client through the Sitefinity admin tomorrow and I realized how "developer centric" the dashboard page is.  It never occurred to me because I use those links, tutorials, and whatnot, but to my client, this is overwhelming.

My suggestion is to allow the default dashboard configuration to be tailored based on user role.   This way the CEO logging in will get a different view of the admin than the receptionist acting as a content editor, or even the web designer or myself as a developer.

Hi Jason,

The Dashboard control is one whole control and if you want to remove the some data you will have to remove the whole control.

You can make minor customizations by going to Administration -> Backend Pages.  For now the dashboard cannot be customized as much as the other content.

Personalization feature ( which is quite complex to be included ) is being logged in PITS - you can vote for it and track the status of the feature request.

You can also download the University Starter kit and explore it. We have provided custom theme for the back-end. Also as a workaround for your demo, you can go and set users with different permissions for the build - in modules.

Kind regards,

If we delete the Dashboard control, is there a way to put it back it we want to?

Thanks.
