Customize checkout templates - Sitefinity - Ecommerce

Hello,

I want to modify some checkout templates, "shipping & billing" and "shipping options". But when I create a new file with the correct name to trigger the VirtualPathProvider (OpenAccessDataProvider,d9ba0affab1e4e9d91044f4608919fbe.ascx) my templates are not picked up. The database version seems to be the default.
Only when I remove the content of the template (in the database, through the backoffice) my custom version becomes active...

Any idea? I like to keep the database changes to a minimum...
