Does anyone have any recommendations on creating a product feed for Google Merchant using products from Sitefinity Ecommerce?

I don't know if I should/can create a custom RSS feed using Sitefinity and have it conform to Google's requirements (namespacing, attributes, etc.) or if I should instead create a WebAPI project as outlined here: blog.codenamed.nl/.../

If anyone has any experience they can relay or point me in a good direction I would appreciate it.
