Abysmal back end performance

Hi all,

The front end of my website is pretty spry and usable, but on the back end I'm experiencing severe performance issues. The most glaring content would be when working in a Content Block on a page and trying to add an image. I have 25 images uploaded spread across 4 libraries, yet the "All Items" view takes nearly 30 seconds to load.

Anyone seeing problems like this?

My setup:
App server in DMZ: Windows Server 2008 R2, 2.6GHz Xeon, 4GB RAM
DB behind firewall with port open for communication, similar hardware stats.

Both servers are virtual.

Thanks!

Hello Zak,

Thank you for posting your issue.
We had performance issue in Libraries, but it has been fixed. The fix will be available next Friday, with an internal build.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Best wishes,

Next as in March 4th, or this friday as in the 25th?

Hello Steve,

It won't make it for the service pack, so it will be a build after that.

All the best,

Any other general performance tips in the mean time?

Hello Zak,

Unfortunately we do not have other tips for the libraries section.
You may try to disable the script combining, and check if you will have lower cpu usage. You may also enable the cache.

We will come up with performance improvements in all areas with Q1.

Best wishes,

Hello Zak,

We have reworked the way how images and videos are handled, and the change will be released in thsi week's internal build. It's not a minor change though, and will be completely tested and verified for the Q1 release.

Greetings,
Georgi
