Is Medium Trust an absolute requirement?

I have read conflicting statement regarding medium trust support, but that doesn't make sense, either it works in medium trust or it doesn't. So which is it?

Has this changed over the past year?

Hello Michiel Van Oosterhout,

Unfortunately Sitefinity 4.x still does not support Medium trust. This is due to the WWF4 activation that requires Full trust in order to be operational.

Ok, I understand.

Do you think that it's possible to use Sitefinity under medium trust in a way that you will not run into the WWF4 requirements for full trust? perhaps by not using certain features of the CMS?

Hello Michiel,

Unfortunately no - every time you try to publish a page or a content item the workflow is fired. This is simply by design.

Hi There

I'm guessing that WWF4 still requires full trust, and therefore the latest version of Sitefinity still cannot be run in Medium Trust mode.  Is that correct?

Is it on the road map to make Sitefinity supported in Medium Trust mode?

Thanks,
Antoine

Hi Antoine,

Unfortunately WWF4 still requires full trust, even in the latest version of Sitefinity. This is our current roadmap -
