Hi,
After a simple modification of the html of a content block in a page, I am not able to edit it again.
I am stuck in load mode with an "error on the page " status message.
Here the details of the error :

Détails de l’erreur de la page Web

I have copied and pasted the url into the navigator and got access to a script file so I don't understand what is going wrong. Other pages are still editable.
See also a screen capture attached.
I am working on the 4.0.1030 version.

Thank you

I have been able to edit again the page after deleting the corresponding content value in the control property table. I know maybe it is not a good idea to go modifying the database directly but I have not found any other solution.
I have replaced :
<div style="background: url(/images/default-album/2010/12/20/background-collab.jpg) no-repeat left top; height: 325px;"> <p class="slogan">Faites &eacute;voluer avec <br /> <span style="font-size: 30px; font-weight: bold;">nos experts</span><br />  l'organisation de vos <br /> <span style="color: #548dd4; font-size: 30px; font-weight: bold;">informations</span> <br /> <br /> <a href="[pages]a5c46dbc-b7ef-451a-9984-6e4394cdda44"><img alt="" src="[images]a433f1d0-7efd-445d-8b00-75901344a009?Status=Master" />&nbsp; </a></p> <p class="slogan</p>  </div>
by nothing and it works.

Any idea on that ?
It seems that I am not allowed to put what I want in the content block.

Thank you

Hello Vincent,

It seems that something got wrong with this particular content block control. Is this html always breaking the page editor? I do not see anything that will cause the page editor to fail from this html. Do you have any other java script or loaded on the pata, template or master page?

Hello Radoslav,
Thanks for getting back to me.

I think I have found what was causing the issue.
I have deleted this from the content block :
<p class="slogan</p>
where the quotes where missing,
and now I can normally editing the page.

Could you consider this issue as a bug because the backend should not allow these typos or at least allow to modify it ?

Thank you

Hi Vincent,

I would agree with you, the backend admin shouldn't be so fragile that a simple syntax error causes the system to be unusable. Even thought there was an error in your code I would call this a bug in the system as they're obviously not trapping the error and preventing the system from becoming inoperable. Something as simple as a javascript error in an included .js file can cause this issue as well, so it's possible that it could be a common issue.

Cheers,
Phill

Hi,

I would not say that this is a bug. It is rather missing implementation. I will log this as a feature request - to implement html validation on the content editor (#104067).
