I've just upgraded SF 4.0 RC to SF 4.0 Final and now I receive the following error when lauching VS 2010 Ultimate:

64 ERROR CreateInstance failed for package [Telerik.Sitefinity.SDK.VSPackage.VSPackage, Telerik.Sitefinity.SDK.VSPackage, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=83403c79775142c0] 52CBC280-CC7E-4433-8C7A-DB12B063876E 80070002 VisualStudio 2011/01/24 12:38:57.944
65 ERROR End package load [Telerik.Sitefinity.SDK.VSPackage.VSPackage, Telerik.Sitefinity.SDK.VSPackage, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=83403c79775142c0] 52CBC280-CC7E-4433-8C7A-DB12B063876E 80004005 - E_FAIL VisualStudio 2011/01/24 12:38:57.94

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Evandro,

Most probably there is some issue with the upgrade of the visual studio extensions. In order to resolve the issue please go to C:\Program Files [or x86]\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Telerik\Telerik Sitefinity SDK VSExtensions folder and delete all files. Then reinstall the your Sitefinity installation. Note that if you have already installed the RadControls it is not necessary to reinstall them from the Sitefinity installation as they become a separate download once you initially indicate that you want them.

Please let me know whether the problem still persists.

Thanks, Hristo. I've found the root of the problem. My machine (for some obscure reason) had to be restored from a restore point in Windows 7. Therefore Windows 7 restored my machine to a previous state but it seems it did not do a complete work (uninstalling the extensions in VS 2010). I uninstalled SF 4.0 RC and installed SF 4.0 final and everything seems to be fine now.
