#Link.Not.Resolved# on inserting images

I've found that if upload several images to the image library and then go edit a page i will get some odd behaviors. using Sitefinity 4.0.1210.0 PE - here is how i get this broken image with link not resolved.

in a content editor while editing a content block widget i can just click on insert image, the image popup appears i select from already uploaded.
then if i search for image with the text search - it finds my image i searched for, i select it, and then click the insert image button.

while still in the content editor the image appears and seems to be linked to ok. but once you hit the save button it disappears and you get something like this

<img alt="" sfref="[images]95dd300e-4670-4b74-be6c-26deb18fe286" src="#Link.Not.Resolved#?Status=Master" />

if i do not use the image search feature the linking to the image will remain intact when i hit the save button.

i searched and didnt see any other posts about this so i posted here.

Hi We reported this an several other major bugs for over a week ago, but no idea when this is fixed because the latest release note does not mention this bug... We have stopped developing our current system using sitefinity and are using another CMS now... The quality and support is a joke, can't believe we paid so many money for a system we are never going to use ;-(...

Hello Martin,

We made changes to our code last week and the issue with the Not Resolved link should be fixed in the next internal build.

Major Bug
Client disappointed - Provider annoyed.
When can we get this fixed?

I noticed when you fail to select the library this error happens. Otherwise it works as intended.

Follow these steps.
1. Open up a content block with an image.
2. Cilck the picture icon to choose a new image.
- Some Image Manager/Editor pops up.
- At the bottom is says Page 1 of 2 1 to 100 of 101. However, there are no images and this has never worked to   my recollection even in previous version of sitefinity. What's up with this?

Lastly, please restore the styles of the Forum to let me create bolded text that isn't italicized as well (very strange practice to do this sort of thing). This text shouldn't be italicized because I only chose bold.

Hi jwize,

This problem was retested with build 1210. The image is properly replaced and shown on a page.

Thanks for the update
You might have noticed that there were some other issues I outline revolving around the image editor. Please reread my initial comment.

hi i tried this with the latest build and it still happens.

edit a content box with an image in it. highlight the image, click the image icon to bring up image properties. choose from already uploaded. when that window appears start typing a name of an image you know exists. or even a letter just type something to filter. select the image you were searching for and replace it.

shows in the text editor but not once you hit the save button. you get this again.

[images]a09fba8d-c6cd-4f6c-b521-a92be633b19f" src="#Link.Not.Resolved#?Status=Master

thought you said this was added in some build? how did it miss this last 4.1 release? could be a very useful feature if it worked ok.

also the thing jwize talks about doesnt seem to be fixed either - instead of seeing page 1 - 2 with 101 items i now see page 1 - 0 of 0 elements and nothing still shows. shouldnt this be a list of all your images?

Hi jwize,

We are aware of this problem and the issue is forwarded for fixing. You can monitor the status of the bugs in our issue tracking system PITS. The issue ID is 5656.

The issue seems sporadic. This actually might happens when the user clicks too fast.  As a workaround I can suggest you to wait few seconds before click Save button.

All the best,

The workaround of waiting a few seconds seems to work for me, pretty annoying bug though...

Hello Jaime Weise,

The status of the issue is Resolved. The fix should be available in Sitefinity 4.1 Internal (4.1.1405).

Best wishes,

I'm beginning to think I made a mistake purchasing the new sitefinity.

The same issue happens when you add a document and try to change the link to open in a new window. Seems like it should be a simple task. I'm all for workarounds and I can live with it. Because I know enough to be able to switch to code view and fix it.

but guess what, my clients DO NOT. and they shouldn't.

I've only been building a site on 4.1 for a few days now and am running into issues.

Support and Fixes just aren't fast enough.

I hope that this will work out for you.
