SiteFinity 4.x NewItem Summary size issue

(Issue in 4.1sp1)

It appears the NewItem Summary field size in the DB has changed (made smaller to 255 char) from 3.7.
Why has this been done?

1) This creates an issue with migrating NewItems from 3.7sp4.  We migrated in ~450 news items and ~100 failed due to this.  To migrate these items we had to modify the migration code to truncate the summary, which is not ideal.
Are there any plans to revert the field size to previous value?

and worse still

2) When you create or edit a news item it lets you enter more than 255 char into the Summary textfield. When saving the newItem, you get an error back with an ambigous message "return code 12152".
If there is a size limit then this should be applied to the form rather than give a  message like that back to the users.

Thanks

Hello Derek Bond,

This issue is already present as a bug in our bug tracking system for news items and blog posts.
You can follow the PITS Issue and vote for it by its ID: 6166 .
For now it is not yet decided if the summary length will be made as it was in 3.7.
In the bug also is a request to add in the UI field length validataion and hint for the max acceptable length.
