Layout column appears outside of the wrapper

I added a two column layout to my template.  However, the second column appears outside of the wrapper.  Shouldn't it be appearing inside?  I'm sure my page would look correct if it did.  I made this template for the backend interface, so I don't know if that has to do with anything.  Can you please help me with this issue?

Never mind.  It appears I forgot to close some tags in my controls.  Everything worked correctly after I closed them.
