Document Description Field

I'm printing out the Description field from the API for a document and most of the (long) descriptions\summaries are cut off

Is the field accepting more text than it's able to store, or is the API truncating it?

The field is nvarchar(max) and when you enter a description for a document in the UI it is not cut out the way you showed us. Could you please give us more details about how exactly you use this Description field?
