Migration bug in setting content owner on some items

Version 4.4, migrating from 3.7 SP4 ASP.NET 4.0.

After running the migration tool, I noticed that the OWNER isn't set consistently throughout the migration process.  On most things, the original ADMIN user gets set as the owner, but on others, it seems to pick a different user (from 3.7 site's list of users) and sets him/her as the owner.

For example, the LISTS module ends up with a seemingly random user as the owner on all items (but the same one each time I attempt a migration).  Also, BLOGS module seems to pick a different user, assigned to all blog posts.  In both cases, it displays the username of the person twice (probably instead of first name and last name).  For example, owner = user1 user1.

Under PAGES, it seems to be all over the place.  On some pages, it lists the correct SF4 admin user, but on others, sometimes is says "administrator administrator," other times a specific user.

All other areas seem to get it correct, which is putting in the newly-created, all-powerful SF4 admin user.

I understand that old owners are not set to the migrated data, but it would make sense to list the same owner on all of that content, right?

Hi Marko,

Thank you for contacting Telerik support team.
In Sitefinity 3.7 SP4 blogs, lists and pages have owner - the user who created them. The user is migrated correct, but the first and last name are populated with the username for now. "administrator administrator" is displayed, because the first and last name of this administrator user are set to the username. We are working on this known issue and it is expected to be fixed in our next release.  If there is no owner set for 3.7 content item or a page, the owner falls back to the admin user of 4.* version of Sitefinity. This is why sometimes it is displayed the first and last name of admin user in 4.*, sometimes it is displayed the admin user in 3.7. If a user different than admin user has created an item or page in 3.7, then in 4.* his first and last name will be displayed.

All the best,
Miroslava
the Telerik team
