publish/edit error
Good day,
We have recently started receving an error when we try to publish/edit a page. I have looked on the forums and have found similar error messages but none of the solutions fixed ours. The error we are getting is "Row not found: GenericOID@612535cb Page Data content_id=737b7 ..... I have attached an image with the complete error. I checked the database and content_id does exist. I have checked this out on several pages and the content_id always exists. We have not done any changes to any config files/database/backend admin settings etc...

Hi Rob,
Can you tell us a bit more about your setup as we know that the error you are getting is a possible bug which we have investigated for the past few months. When did you start receiving the error? Also have you tried to restart the project / application pool?
All the best,

Hi Victor,
We just started receiving the error a couple of days ago. We have restarted the application pool and just did a save on the web, config file and neither had any affect. We looked over the site and settings to see if we could find anything that we may have changed but all we have been doing is creating/editing pages that are just basic pages. It does seem to help slightly if we wait for a couple minutes in between steps when creating/ editing a page but the error eventually does appear. The page also shows as being locked if it actually publishes then when we go back in to publish it we get the error though we can also get the error when we try to publish after making a change to the page. Sometimes even just trying to open the page to edit it we will receive the error. We are using Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL 2008. We are using IE 7 as our browser for editing and cannot test with any other browser or use any other browser - stuck with IE 7 only.

Hello Rob,
Can you confirm that the problem is reproducible only when editing a single page? If that is so, can you try to duplicate the page, delete the old one and use the newly created copy of that page? You can also try to revert to an old version of the page, from the " Revision History " if you suspect that the page was corrupted as a result of some changes made to it.

Hi Victor,
It is every page, whether we were editing it or creating a new one. We also started getting the error "No row found for Telerik.Sitefinity.Pages.Model.PageData ...."
However it appears we found a solution. We changed our settings in the backend under Settings/Data and put Enable data caching to False. It was blank prior to this.
We had not changed this at any point so not sure if had got changed somehow but have had no problems on the last 20 pages we have edited.
Rob
Hi Rob,
This is a concurrency problem which we are handling at the moment, but indeed setting the property "Enable data caching" should limit such exceptions to 0. By default the property is indeed blank, but after consulting with some colleagues of mine, they have confirmed that the property can be set to False ( as in your case ) in order to avoid the issue.
