layout_transformations.css not cachable?

Why does ~/Sitefinity/Public/ResponsiveDesign/layout_transformations.css come with with an expiry of Jan 0001?  Why would we not want that cached for our users?

Hey Steve,

I think they did that because the layout_transformations.css comes down with every editon of Sitefinity, wether you have the feature turned off or on. By setting the cache to null they force it to get reloaded each time. (which is ok if its turned off, because its empty anyway although it counts against parallel downloads)

But in the case when you have it turned on, the browser would be forced to render the latest, instead of having the zero-length one cached indefinately.

Fair enough...but I still would like it cached :)

Could perhaps instead have the version of the file appended to it, every change to the backend incriments the version # so like layout_transformations_v1.css.  Where the current version\format can be changed in the backend responsive config?

Hmm....

Neat! While we're at it, would be sweet if its a physical file as well, or at least a file residing in the theme folder so we could fine tune it with Thunder...

Has this been addressed in any recent version of sitefinity, say > 7?

This file is > 44 kb that gets a FORCED download?

Dear Dawid

No answer but a chance to vote that it gets at least minified: feedback.telerik.com/.../99094-the-layout-transformations-css-should-be-cached-and-minified
