Backend Custom Document Field not Visible in Upload screen

I added a custom field called MeetingDate to documents and in appearance I selected to show field in all backend pages. However, when I go to upload documents, I only see the Categories and Tags and the MeetingDate textbox is not shown. The date shows after saving the document and then going back to edit the properties. Is there a way that I can make sure the field is visible at the time of actually uploading documents??

Currently it is not possible to add information to the custom fields during the upload. They are accessible once the file has been successfully uploaded.
