List of Child Pages won't expand

We're encountering an issue that's causing child pages to not display on back-end. It occurs with some parent pages but not most. Clicking the arrow to trigger the child pages to list causes a message of "loading" to display but it's not expanding. Has anyone else experienced this and found resolution. If so, please share.
