Unable to get created template for sidebar product details t

After I create a template based on the Sidebar Product Details widget, it never shows under Single Item Settings (Although it does show under the main Widget Templates area) of the Product List.  I've tried recreating it and it still never shows.  I am able to use the Sidebar Product Details template just fine.  It's only when I want to use a new template based off of it that there is a problem (since the new template never shows up in the drop-down).

This problem is still occurring.  It is annoying since it basically means I am unable to customize the sidebar product details template (or is there some other way to assign it?).  All other of my templates work fine.  It is only my sidebar product detail templates that never show up.
