A page can't be published

Hi,

After modifying a page or adding a new page, the page can't be published. It shows the message 'Awaiting Approval' . Again when I click on the page, it shows 'Send for Publishing' and I click on it. Then the status shown is 'Awaiting Publishing'. When Publish button in Actions is clicked, nothing is happening. What is causing the error.

The status of the page you try to publish is "Awaiting Approval" because worklfow has been activated for the pages module. When workflow is activated an approver role or an user is assigned to it which has the right to publish pages. All other users send pages for approval until the approver publishes them
Check if you have workflow activated form Administration->Workflow and see which users or a user rile is assigned to as an approver.
