Forgot Password link not working

Hi,
I am doing a site in Sitefinity5.  The issue is 'Forgot Your Password?' link is not working. Nothinghappens on clicking the link. 
What is causing the error?

Yes. Make sure you have followed the steps outlined in the KB article referenced by Markus.

I am once again going crazzy over this

- Administration - Basic - User Authentication -> Forms
- Administration - Advanced - Notifications - Profiles - Default  -> set up
- Administration - Advanced - System - SMTP -> set up
- Administration - Advanced - Membership Provider - Default - Parameters -> set up

>> enalbe Password reste -> true
>> recovery MailAddress -> set

>> Recycled AppPool

However

The link on the login page to "forgot password" does nothing (no fiddler activity)

Every single time I set this up I run into troubles. 

What am I missing again ?

 Are you having issues with the backend login or the frontend login widget? Do you see any console errors when trying to click that link?

Fixed by deleting autogenerated file LoginConfig.config in folder App_data/Sitefinity

Unforutnately my site has no such filte to be deleted. Any idea?

Hello Markus,

LoginConfig.config file will be generated if you navigate to Administration -> Settings -> Advanced -> Login and  enable one of the setting from the attached file. This file will be located in ~\App_Data\Sitefinity\Configuration folder of your project
