List widget unlike Sitefinity v. 3.7x

When I used to use the List Widget in Sitefinity v. 3.7x, I could drag the List widget to my page and then optionally navigate and create the List at the same time.  

However, in Sitefinity v. 5.x, I am forced to have pre-created the List content prior to working with the page.  The problem with this approach is that I may be migrating content or building out content on my page and think of the appropriate content to place in my list at the time I am designing the page and not before.

Forcing a user to bounce back and forth between design of the page and creating the List content is a jarring and tedious experience.  Instead, the functionality should emulate what was provided to Sitefinity v. 3.7x users before.
