Import language pack messed up backend
Hi all,
I've problems with importing language packs into my website.
Done the following:
After this, the backend is getting messed up. Labels appear in Dutch and English. Seems like a bug to me.
Anyone can clearify and/or confirm this?
Thanks!
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
My situation is almost similar to yours and I'm seeing the same thing. I have a website that was upgraded to 5.4. Two frontend languages: Dutch, English (default). One backend language: English. I imported the Dutch language pack which works fine for the frontend. But I didn't expect Dutch to be displayed in the backend as well. It's being displayed when editing frontend pages that are in Dutch.
This is not what I want, and I don't think/hope it's by design either. I didn't even report this yet due to a lack of time.
Dear Daniel
Would the same thing happen if you add dutch as backend language first and then import the dutch language pack?
I would export english from a fresh project and import it to english.
My problem usually was with SBE where you can add multiple backend languages but can add only one language which will overwrite default language.
It sure is not nice how its handled in SBE and it might be good if Telerik looks at your problem and the way SBE are handled. (Still think it would not hurt if SBE would allow multiple backend languages)

@Arno: yeah, same situation. It sucks. :(
@Markus: I have dutch as the first language, so I could try to add English as the first language. I'm not using SBE, but the SE.
@Daniel
If you have only one backend language configured and Import an dtuch language pack it can be the Problem. However some backend stuff will not be translated. Analytics and other will stay in the Default backend language Admin Advanced Settings, as far as I know.

HI,
Can we set multiple back end languages and language selector. I want to create internationalized blog site where bloggers of different locale can login and create posts. They should see everything in particular language which they belong.
is there a way I can allow them to select backed language when they login?
Thanks
