Change of title content not reflected at first (5.4)

Client left title untouched so they were page name
Yesterday I changed the titles using action - titles & properies and saved
SF inserted meta title with new title content but head title tag was still page name
Had to open close page to get SF to reflect the changes also in head title

The behaviour is indeed strange - in the past there were some clients reporting similar cases ( rarely ) but we did not receive any feedback from them on how the issue was resolved. However, can you elaborate a bit more on the topic, are you getting the same behaviour only on specific pages ( which for example share a common template ) or to any new page - what I am looking for is a pattern which might help me in reproducing the problem, as currently I was not able to replicate the case locally. Can you also let me know whether you have altered the default cache settings for the site? Also, is the site hosted in NLB environment?
