login/log out button widget over SSL

If I enable SSL on my site (by following as best as possible the documentation that I've found -- so far everything seems to be working as desired)...

Now, however, the logout button/link no longer works as expected and throws the following exception when the logoutAction is set to either 'Redirect' or 'RedirectToLoginPage'.

If I don't use SSL on my site -- the functionality works as expected. Does anybody have any ideas on what is causing this (I'm assuming I need to configure the SSL differently?)
