Please help - Menu pages blank

Hi there,

Wondered if anyone can help. I can login to Sitefinity, but when I click on Pages, there are no pages listed (there should be at least 5 that I've already added).  Same happens when I click content - I just get a blank page no matter what content type I select. This happens on most menus... something's broken but I'm not sure what.

Cheers

Not sure if it's relevant but I can't view the Sitefinity backend now. I get Server Error in '/xxxx' Application.  HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.Version Information: Telerik Web Server 6.0.4100.0

Any help would be VERY appreciated :-)

I'm getting => NullReferenceException
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

When trying to login to the Sitefinity admin area. Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Hello,

Are you experiencing these issues only on a live server? Did you recently upgrade and since then experience this issue? Additionally can you run your project locally and experience the problem?

Please ensure you have configured IIS correctly.

If you upgraded - that you followed our documented steps.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the reply. The problem seems to have resolved itself. I think the initial problem with the page list being blank was related to the NullReferenceException.

Every now and then Sitefinity seems to product this error when I add a new widget using Thunder. It sometimes breaks within Sitefinity whilst adding a new field to a custom module.

However, a Sitefinity restart followed by clearing cookies off my localhost domain seem to always resolve this issue. I think clearing the cookies seems to be key for some reason.

As long as I've got a fix, I don't mind if I get the occassional hiccup like this.

Cheers

Hi Stu,

Hmm. Interesting for sure since as far as I know I have never seen a similar circumstance reported. I would first make sure you are using the latest Thunder. Like I said in my last response, make sure your server is properly configured as well. Check any custom code you have that may be interfering with view state, caching, etc. Clear your app_Data/sitefinity/logs and feel free to post back again if the error occurs with those log files. They may have some valuable info related to this issue.
