Theme Button Disappearing

Hello, I have configure the theme button with the correct path and it appears for the current page but when closed or when new page is being created on the Sitefinity the button in the right hand corner disappear.  Can someone help me how to figure out this please?

Pages don't have 'themes' applied to them, a page inherits a template. Those templates have themes applied. So what you're seeing is normal behavior.

If you look at the screenshot attached, you'll see on the left the page-editor.
On the 'layout' tab, you can change a template. (you chose a template on page creation )

If you go into the template editor (In backend click on Design >> Page Templates) as you can see on the right part of the screenshot, you have a 'theme button' where you can assign a theme.

The template that inherits the theme is attached to the new page created but the changes made in thunder does not reflect fully.  Only the background color is changed. Is this normal?

Can you specify what changes are not reflected? When you add new content placeholders do they appear on your page template? The expected behavior is when you modify your template using Thunder this change should appear in your project template.
