I have a radmenu in my master file. The menu has some words in it that trigger the pages to be flagged when searching for words. I seen some threads in here on suggestions but could not find how to prevent a menu from setting off the index. In sitefinity 3.7 (yup, just came from there) we have the fields file that i could define what to ignore by the element and class, id, etc. really nice control in the old sitefinity. how to do i go about ignoring? (if that is the best practice).

Hi Richard,

Please check out the following article on how to exclude content from the search index:

http://www.sitefinity.com/blogs/team-blog/2012/02/06/hiding_page_content_from_the_search_engine_in_sitefinity_using_layout_widgets

There are also other discussions on the subject available in our forums:

Twas a me issue. Thanks for your reply. I had an additional menu in the page that was not behaving as expected and included the whole sitemap vs what I expected and therefore included the keyword :S

Thanks again. Works like documented
