Adding external services to project

Every time I attempt to add my companies external svc to my Sitefinity project Visual Studio(2012) hangs.

I have successfully added the same service to a new VS project and have also added different services to my Sitefinity project successfully.

I have also created a new (clean) sitefinity project and attempted to add my service reference and that also hangs.

Can anyone give advice on how to fix this issue.

The solution that was given to me by the Sales engineer was to do the following

When you select "Add service reference"

Enter the url you wish to add, click the Go Button. Rename the service if you wish.

Before you click OKAY, click advanced and uncheck "reuse types in reference assemblies"
