Display Issues in Internet Explorer for Content Items

I've noticed that after some recent Windows patches the Sitefinity backend has been acting up for a couple of our users who use Internet Explorer when they attempt to edit a Content item like an Image. Everything gets crammed into about a two inch high visible section while the rest of the screen is blank. I've attached an image of this in action.

So far I've isolated the patches responsible to KB4013198 for Windows 10 and KB4012204 and KB4012215 for Windows 7. It's also possible Windows 8.1 is having similar issues, but we don't have access to any 8.1 computers. Uninstalling the patches revert Internet Explorer to a version that functions properly. However, since these are security patches I'm wary about leaving them uninstalled.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so have you discovered any fixes that don't involve rolling back patches or switching browsers?

We also have been experiencing this issue in Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 after these updates. Using Sitefinity 9.2. Haven't found a fix or workaround yet.

The display is OK in Chrome and Firefox, only Internet Explorer is having this problem.

The issue seems to be related to a recent update to IE 11 and how it affects the display (150 pixel height)  of Telerik controls which Sitefinity (and other tools we have) use.

There is some discussion of this on the Telerik forum at:  www.telerik.com/.../recent-windows-update-causing-sizing-issues

On page 2 of the above thread there is reference to a Microsoft patch for this for various versions of Windows.

We've downloaded and installed the update for Windows 10 (support.microsoft.com/.../windows-10-update-kb4016635) from the catalog which for us has restored functionality for use of Sitefinity with IE 11.

As always, proceed with caution before installing any update.

Do we have a link for a KB for Windows 8.1?

As mentioned above this topic was being discussed on the Telerik forums and a poster there listed several links to download patches from Microsoft.  While i cannot verify the effectiveness of them all against the various versions of Windows, however we did find that the Win10 version corrected our issue.  For Win 7 & 8,  the URL for the download location is noted below.  Take whatever precautionary steps or image\file backups you desire prior to installation of any patch.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The fixes have been released and are public available the catalog:
Windows 10 Version 1607:
KB-article: support.microsoft.com/.../4016635
Package-location:

www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx

Windows 10 RTM Version 1507
KB support.microsoft.com/.../4016637
Package catalog.update.microsoft.com/.../Search.aspx

IE11 on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
KB support.microsoft.com/.../
Packages: www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/search.aspx

Please keep in mind, that the packages for Windows 10 are full cumulative Updates and do not have Prerequisite for their installation.
The packages for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are different, as they 1 just contain the DLL from the rendering-engine and needs to be installed on top of the March IE-Update KB4013073 for Internet Explorer.

Cross platform testing is the best solution for these kind of issues, As you found this bug after fixing this you may find more bugs. Sitefinity developers should aware of the alignment of those web elements as well as after update we must check the compatibility with the updated one. We have partnership with Sitefinity, If you want you can approach us forexternal support.
