Site monitoring is getting Too Many Redirects error

I recently updated our site to 9.2.6230. We have a Status page on our site that returns the database connection status with a few other pieces of information.

Ever since the upgrade our status monitor is occasionally getting a Too Many Redirect error.

It seems to be stemming from the Sitefinity/Status page redirect. Does this redirect only occur during a site restart? Is there a way to prevent the redirect to the "Please wait a moment" splash page?
