DefaultSenderEmailAddress property cannot be empty

I followed the documentation on how to set up email in settings > email settings and settings > advanced > notifications > profiles. The default sender email address exists in these places.  I am able to send a test email via the basic settings > email settings. I am trying to programmatically send an email following these instructions here https://www.progress.com/documentation/sitefinity-cms/for-developers-email-message-templates and I am getting the error "DefaultSenderEmailAddress property cannot be empty" . I have followed the instructions here https://knowledgebase.progress.com/articles/Article/How-to-use-smtp4dev-to-test-Sitefinity-emails that detail this error. Sadly, there is no Administration > Settings > Advanced > System > SMTP (Email Settings) in v 12.2 MVC how do I fix this?

For Profile name try "Default"
