Thunder's "Publish Sitefinity project to Azure" is broken in v1.6.0.0

Currently it dies complaining that it only works with Azure SDK v2.6.

Is there any plan to update Thunder so that it works with a recent release of the Azure SDK? I expected an update with the Sitefinity v9.0 release, but it didn't happen.

A lot of new capability was delivered in the past 8 months with the v2.7, v2.8 & v2.8.2 releases. Especially in the new VS Tooling. It is a real pain to need to build a completely new Development VM just to compensate for this lack of support.
That said the Azure publish feature sounds like it is one of the most useful features that Thunder provides. So also a pain to do without it.

Was a decision made to NOT moved to a later build? I understand that it might block those running VS 2012.
If so is it possible to not version check the SDK & so support multiple versions?

Hi,

The Azure SDK version has not been updated for Sitefinity 9.0. Currently the only supported version for Sitefinity 9.0 of the Azure SDK is version 2.6.

Thanks, for your reply
Do you know if the are are any plans to update thunder so it works with a later release of the Azure SDK?
If yes, any timeframe?

As it is no longer possible to download Azure SDK 2.6, it is not possible to use this feature of thunder.

Hello Dave,

Azure SDK 2.6 can be downloaded from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46892

It is also available to install from the web platform installer.

Other than that upgrading the SDK version is not within the short-term plans and will most likely not happen for the 9.1 release.
