Image field on default News module

Hi,

Is it possible to add Image fields to 'out of the box' modules like News, the Media field only seems to appear on modules you create yourself

In order to achieve your desired scenario you can check the following blog post.

Extend the Image Selector for Content Items with Filtering by Album

Keep in mind that if you are using version 6.x of Sitefinity you have to use the sample from the attached file.

That seem very long-winded! Are there any downsides to my just creating a new News module from scratch and disabling the default News module?

Hello David,

There is no problem to create your own News module using Module builder. Using this approach you will be able to add and an Image field. If you have your own module you can disable the default one.
