Visual Studio 2008 version?

According to Gabe's blog there's some "internal chatter" about a Visual Studio 2008 version. What is the probability of that?

I don't really see a chance for our company to upgrade to VS 2010 any time soon, and I would guess I'm not the only one with this issue.

So ... will a VS 2008 version come with the RC? Or the final release? Or never?

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris,

For now we are going to support VS 2010 with the SDK project. We are going to consider support for VS 2008 for one of the next releases.

Which edition of VS 2010 is required? Will it work with the Web Express edition (which is free)? See www.microsoft.com/.../.

Thanks.

Hello Donnie Hale,

There should not be a problem to use express edition. We will not provide support for VS 2008, because we use Silverlight 4 and it requires VS 2010.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the limitations of Visual Studio Express Editions effectively prevent their use in my case.

As you're now saying that you will not provide support for VS 2008, it seems like I won't be able to use the SDK at all. That really is a drawback.

Cheers,
Chris
