Products module not shown? - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

I've copied the Products Intermediate module from the example directory to my project directory. Changed some names etc. and added it as a new ApplicationModule in the config (via the UI).

Now the module is not appearing.
I don't know what else I have to do to let it show up inside the backend?

Same as for a complete new module: I used the template from Visual Studio to create a new module project. Added it to the config and nothing happens.

Where can I find the instructions on how to 'activate' or 'install' it in the CMS?
