Setting the default view in a designer based on a condition

We have a widget that can show details of an internal user, or external user.  I have 2 designers defined and can toggle between them fine.  However lets say I save the external user data, then open the designer again, I want that to be the view that loads...no necessarily the one with the higher priority.
