Binding RadScheduler to database table

Hi

How can I bind RadScheduler to an underlying database table so the Scheduler can read and write to the table? There are a number of ways explained in the RadScheduler examples but I need to know which ones would work in a SF custom widget?

A short sample would be appreciated.
