Drop Down List for Simple User Controls Settings

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get Sitefinity 4.x to show a drop down list of choices for simple user control that uses public properties in the class as inputs for the settings screen?

So for example you might have a public property "Title", which the CMS user would be able to change by typing a value into a textbox that Sitefinity would generate by itself. But what if you wanted to have a drop down list of choices if the field were something like "Layout" with options such as "Vertical" or "Horizontal".

Also, we'd want to do this with the simple User Control, not the more complex Sitefinity widgets.

This is not yet possible within Sitefinity 4.x. However it is on our to do list and we expect to have this functionality in the first quarter of 2012.

This feature will not be part of the Sitefinity 5.0 release. It will be included in the plan for a later release.

The feature has not been implemented in the product yet, however we've released our Sitefinity Thunder Visual Studio plugin which allows you to easily create designers for existing and new UserControls, and also offers the ability to insert pages, Videos, Images or Document selectors in the designer for fields of type Guid in your control.
