Adding a custom field to widget template - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

Hi! I am developing with Sitefinity 4.1. I want to be able to add an image to my blog post template. I added a custom field for blogs under the Blogs content. When I go to edit the widget template for blogs, I don't see the newly added custom field. Is there something special I have to do to get this to show in the right hand column?
What I am looking for is for each Blog to have it's own image? Is this possible?

Heather,

You can add custom fields at both the blog and blog post level. I'm guessing you added the field at the blog level and that the widget template you're probably looking at is displaying information at the blog post level.

If your goal is for each post to have a thumbnail, just add the custom field at the post level and you will be able to see it on the right in the widget template editor. :)
