Can Sitefinity run in a virtual directory of an existing web application?

We are in the process of transitioning to a CMS (Sitefinity) and are trying to figure out how to do it in stages. We have found via Support that if SF is running the site at the root, we cannot have just plain aspx pages side by side with SF managed pages.

Can we have SF run in a virtual directory of our site, managing everything in its domain, and the rest of our site manages the rest?

Hi Mark,

If I understand you correctly, you want to have your current site running, while Sitefinity is also running in a virtual directory. This can be achieved of course. Please review the following article, which contains a detailed information on the subject:
