Can I change the built-in Video Widget to use an HTML5 player?

I haven't yet attempted to modify the built-in widgets, always rolled my own.

Has anyone else had tried to modify the widget template for the built in video widget to use an HTML5-fallback player rather than the built in Silverlight player. I would think that I could modify the allowed file extension in admin settings to .mp4, and then create a new widget template that used a custom video player to output the result.

Does that sound plausible? Any thoughts, warnings, tips?

Hi,

I have included a link to a blog post about how to do HTML5 instead of Silverlight.

Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

The link was slightly broken. Here is the correct link:

Thanks. This will likely do what I need.
