I think at some point early 2011 I asked this, I can't find the post though

I want to create a provider to talk to my cloud files rackspace CDNs so I can manage my images in SF...I also want to do an Alfresco document provider...

Is this doable yet?

I believe you were looking for this forum discussion? Like Antoneta menitoned, we have these request on our wish list, however their implementation has not been scheduled yet. Currently we've added support for Microsoft's Windows Azure Blob Storage and Windows Azure CDN as a cloud storage offering, please keep in touch as we'll make sure to announce when this featur's included in our plans.

I also have a need to do this for a customer now too.
