Questions about the Language Selector

I have Sitefinity 4.4 site where I put the language selector on a page template.  It is currently set to display as a drop down list, "Include the current language in the selector" is unchecked and "Hide the link to the missing translation" is checked.  Currently, my site only has a few pages that are translated but my language selector displays on all of my pages mostly with just English displaying. 

1) Wouldn't the "Include the current language in the selector" option hide English on non-translated pages and then hide the drop down as well?  I don't want the drop down to display when there are no alternative transalations.
