User service - how can i access ldap users? or service not w - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

hello. i am trying to pull down a list of ldap users from siteifinity with the user service:
http://localhost:60876/Sitefinity/services/Security/Users.svc/all/?provider%3dldapusers
or
localhost:60876/.../

but it only returns the 2 siteifnity users and not the ldap users, despite there being 12 ldap users in the system as shown by this service:
http://localhost:60876/Sitefinity/services/Security/Users.svc/GetUserProviders/

anyone have any ideas on why the ldaps aren't getting pulled? is it a security thing or setting thing? i looked at the ldap service settings but could not find anything that looked helpful in this situation.

bumpity.

has no one used this service? this is for Sitefinity 5.

we have spent many days just trying to create a basic user selector control and it relies on this service to get its data.

still no info on whether the users.svc can retrieve ldapusers?
