Creating RadCalendar with Events in Sitefinity 5

I read Event Schedule View as Calendar thread, but it is hard to convert it into version 5.0
I would like to create a RadCalendar that retrieves all events by category such as 'Pay day (blue)', 'Holiday (Orange)', etc.

Could anyone post a sample code that I can follow?

Hello Tracy and Jae,

With the upcoming Sitefinity 6.0 we would include a completely refactored Events module, including Calendar views which would come out of the box. I believe you will find these a good fit for your requirements.
