Categories widget

Hi

Hopefully a simple question, How does the categories widget work? or rather is there a way to view the code file for it? i can't seem to find it in the SDK. I need to find out how it calls the list of categories and the count from the database so i can use the same code  in custom control.

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I recently wrote a blog post about Filtering the Sitefinity Taxonomy Widget for a Specific Blog that overrides the GetTaxaItemsCountForTaxonomy method which appears to do the bulk of retrieving and counting; perhaps it can help point you in the right direction.
