Document Manager - Library Categories?

Hi!
This has just been brought to my attention by a user. They were trying to link to a document within a library but she has 20 pages to search through is the Document Manager is listing all the documents within a selected library. Is there any way to filter the library by category within the Document Manager?
I looked in to other options, just as using the 'embed link' button within the documnet&files section but this just links to that current version and isnt the most user friendly process.
