Problems with Claims Switch to Forms Authentication

Hi,
   I created a project and I switched from Claims Authentication to Forms
Authentication , but I do not see any change in web.config.

I would expect some changes. ie..  
<authentication mode="Forms">
and still see <remove name="FormsAuthentication"/>

I'm using Telerik.Sitefinity.Security.SecurityManager.AuthenticateUser for custom logging but it is not working. 

Do I need to manually tweak the config so the app behaves as 4.X version?

BTW..  My Approach worked fine in 4.4 version.
