Exporting pages from one SF installation to another - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

I am migrating our website from an old sitefinity 4.1 install to a new 5.1 install.

Is there a way to export pages and content into the new site/db?

Doing an upgrade on the site breaks it.

Please excuse if this question is a dumb one. You are aware that you cannot take 4.1 streight to 5.1, right?

You have to upgrade with releases in between. I guess the way would be:

4.1 -> 4.2 -> 4.4 -> 5.0 -> 5.1 So actually you would have to rund 4 upgrades. Testing after each upgrade would show you were something might break.

Thanks Markus. I have done this a couple of times, but each time the newly upgraded 5.1 install shows an empty login page and no pages on the site.

As a last resort I have created a new installation of 5.1 on a new server, and would like to 'start afresh' but keep the content.

Is there a way to do this?

When you start from 4.1 upgrading, which is the last version when testing that the site has content?

To upgrade your project Sietfinity 4.1 project to Sitefinity 5.1/Sitefinity5.2 or Sitefinity 5.3 version, please follow the upgrade instructions in our documentation.
