Modified image gallery details template not taking affect

Greetings,

I am wrapping up development of a website using Sitefinity 5.4 for a client and the very last change I need to make involves customizing the default image gallery template (when in list + details on same page). All I wanted to do was add the description under the image in addition to the information symbol.  I didn't know exactly where the text needed to go in the HTML so I put some test text ("scooby1", "scooby2", etc.) through the text. My idea was that I would see the test text and the one that shows up in the right place is the one I need to drop the Description tag into. Upon loading the page I noticed none of my test text showed up. I have tried everything and I can't get the default template for single image details to take affect anywhere.

Is there some kind of process I'm overlooking or caching or something that needs dealt with?

Does anyone have any experience with these image templates? None of the changes I make are showing up.
