mailto spam protection

Hi!
Do any of you recommend a way of preventing or at least limiting the chances of getting spam from bots when publishing an email address on a website?

Just now we have a number of public facing email accounts on our site and getting an increase in spam in our mailboxes because of it. Ideally Sitefinity would encrypt the email addresses automatically when it encounters a mailto tag but that doesn't seem to be an option. I don't want the users having to do much to secure their emails so even if I can develop an addon for the templates that does it for me that would be good.

Interested to hear what others do.

Hi,

The first option that you have is to use content filter for the HTMLField. Please find attached a sample implementation of this content filter (slightly modified to show the real content in design mode and capital case on the frontend) on our HtmlField template. I have verified the sample to be working on both Content Block widgets and in Content modules using HtmlField.

The other option is to use ReCaptcha. It offers a simple email obfuscation service. Furthermore, you could review the following article.

One of my clients is looking to put a reCAPTCHA within a Form on their site.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

From what I can tell, you can't insert JavaScript blocks directly onto the form.

We're using SF5.2.3800

EDIT:
I'm doing some more digging through the forums, and think I've already found my answer

Hello Alex,

Thank you for getting back to us.

We have a blogpost for implementing RadCaptcha into Sitefinity Form Control here.
Note that if you upgrade your project to version 6.2 you will have this feature out-of the box.

If you have troubles implementing it or any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
